Last week, I went on vacation to Montana!
More on that trip in a future post – today, I’m talking travel beauty. When I vacation, I experiment with sample-size products I’ve received with my beauty purchases. My husband teases me about my overflowing drawer of said samples, but I find it difficult to ever throw a tester away – what if it’s the next great thing to thicken my fine hair, erase my fine lines, and generally transform me into a supermodel? I love that so many companies (Nordstrom, SkinStore, Dermstore, Sephora) allow you to choose the samples you want to try when you buy. Packing samples lightens my load while introducing me to new potions.
On this trip, I found three new products that I ordered online while on our trip so they were waiting for me when I got home. We’re about to change seasons and the evenings in the mountains are already cooler than before we went on vacation. I was eager to find a few concoctions with nourishing ingredients that I could add to my regimen as it becomes cooler and drier outside.1: Klorane Shampoo with Mango Butter is a hydrating shampoo but doesn’t weigh down my hair. I try to avoid the blow dryer when I’m on vacation, so I like a wash like this that gives good, lightweight moisture but doesn’t sap my hair’s (minimal) natural body and wave.
2: La Roche-Posay Mela-D Deep Cleansing Brightening Foaming Cream can be used by people with uneven skin tone or skin discolorations. I don’t have those issues, but I am all about brightening and I love the fun of good foam with my Clarisonic brush. This cleanser left my skin toned and soft but squeaky clean. A tiny bit goes a long way.
3: iS Clinical Youth Complex is my new, most-every-evening serum. I use my Sanitas Vita C Serum in the morning and look for something with a bit more anti-aging action for nighttime. I layered this serum under my moisturizer, and I loved the glow and softening of fine lines I saw every morning. I will use the Youth Complex 3-4 times a week, rather than every single night, since it’s a heavier serum. A fantastic addition to my routine!
What about you? Any sampler scores to share?
