Have you guys heard about this web site, Cabin Porn?  It’s a totally amazing Tumblr site filled with photos of drool-worthy cabins, and the curator of the site recently published a book with the same title featuring some of the site’s greatest hits.  I confess to lustily checking this site on a frequent basis.  Though our home is in the foothills of the Colorado Rockies and less than an hour from skiing, my husband and I dream about an actual mountain cabin nestled right in a covetable resort location.  The Cabin Porn web site is aspirational both in the sense that it gives me ideas for a future mountain home and provides sartorial inspiration – if I were roaming the glorious hills surrounding these structures, what kind of fantastical rustic chic ensemble would I be wearing?  These Maison Martin Margiela were an investment purchase for me two years ago, and I’ve worn them constantly ever since.  The caramel color goes with everything, and the boots have just the right amount of play between slouch and structure, so they look awesome with skirts as well as over jeans.  I keep the flannel Patagonia shirt, the silky Tibi cami and the AG ripped jeans on constant rotation, and the fur shrug is a vintage piece I picked up on Etsy last year and have worn with a million different outfits – it keeps me warm and adds just the right amount of chic to a mountain look.  I like my outfits to be functional but also incorporate just the right bit of fantasy – just like the fantastical cabins on Cabin Porn.
